From your base at the marina, it’s just a mile’s walk into the heart of Nottingham, where you’ll find a vibrant mix of shops, restaurants, nightlife, and a rich blend of history and culture waiting to be explored.

The marina offers both residential and leisure moorings, all set within a calm, welcoming environment supported by a friendly and supportive on-site team. We’ve just completed our £1.3 million transformation of Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina. Our moorers can now enjoy a range of upgrades, including new pontoons, modern electricity bollards, improved safety equipment, refurbished ensuite bathrooms and moorers lounge, enhanced CCTV, and upgraded Wi-Fi - alongside significant improvements to the marina’s overall look and feel.

Residential mooring package

A residential mooring means that Nottingham Castle would become your legally recognised residence and you could officially call it your home. You would also receive a host of other benefits including:

• A registered UK postal address and post box - all your mail can be delivered to a lockable post box at the marina, and you can use the marina address to register for doctors and schools etc.
• Free council tax when choosing a composite council tax option
• A secure parcel collection point for your parcels
• A 2000L storage box to store your belongings securely, including your bikes.
• One free wash & dry per week in our upgraded laundry facility

Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina is located on the Nottingham and Beeston canal, so you’ve got access to the whole waterways network. There is lots of exploring to do around here. You can head to the tidal Trent, which takes you towards Newark – where our Kings Waterside & Marina is located. Or you can cruise down the navigational cut of the River Trent and stop off at our Sawley Waterside & Marina.

Getting around

By Train
Nottingham Train Station is just one mile away, with direct services to London St Pancras International in under two hours. 

By Tram
Nottingham’s tram network runs every 4–8 minutes, providing fast, convenient access across the city while helping to keep congestion to a minimum. The nearest tram stop is 0.5 miles away (Meadows Way West) and it stops at the train station and the city centre as well.

By Bus
The city’s extensive bus network serves Nottingham and the wider urban area, with the nearest bus stop just 0.3 miles from the marina on Castle Boulevard (the stop is called Alderney Street).

Shopping 

For daily essentials, a large Sainsbury’s supermarket is just a five-minute walk away. For bigger shopping trips, Nottingham city centre offers one of the UK’s top shopping destinations, featuring well-known high street brands such as John Lewis alongside a wide range of independent retailers. Castle Retail Park is also close by, providing additional convenience.

Eating out

Living at the marina means you’re never short of places to relax and socialise. There are several pubs and restaurants right by the marina, ideal for casual dining and waterside drinks close to home.

Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina is open 9:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Saturday and closed Sundays and Bank Holidays.
